File Compare Version 2.3b 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------

What is File Compare?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
File Compare is a small utility program to run a binary comparison
between two files or between all of the files located under two
different folders.

System Requirements
-------------------------------------------------------------------
- Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP

Package Content
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This package should include the following files:
-readme.txt
-FComp.exe
-XC Software.url
-Msflxgrd.ocx

How to INSTALL?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no need to run a special install program. Simply unzip the
package you downloaded into a folder you like. To create a
shortcut, hold down CTRL and SHIFT keys and drag the FComp.exe
onto your desktop. If the program fails to start do the following:
- Check the file "msvbvm60.dll" under the system or system32
directory of Windows. If you cannot find it, you have to download
and install VB6 runtime libraries (See download page of XC)
- If an error message about a version conflict is displayed, try
copying the file Msflxgrd.ocx to the system directory (system32
  for Win 2000/NT/XP) of Windows

How to UNINSTALL?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This program does not create any kind of registry entries, nor does
it install any runtime libraries. So simply deleting the folder you
unzipped the package is sufficient to remove it from your system
completely.

Usage Information
-------------------------------------------------------------------
There are two fields on program interface. These fields are used
to display information about the files/folders you want to compare.
FT can run in two different modes: File compare mode and folder
compare mode. The mode is automatically selected depending on your
last action. Choosing a file will force FT to switch to file
comparison mode whereas choosing a folder will activate directory
comparison mode.

Drag and drop support: You may also choose a file or folder by
dragging it to the desired field. Another method to drop files or
folders is to drag and drop a set of either two files or two
folders at the same time.

Comparing Folders: All the files of both folders are listed. Files
having the same name are listed in pairs on top of the list. Note
that if you click "Binary Check" button only the files having the
same name are compared. If you need to compare files with different
names, you should use file comparison mode. If the date or size of
the paired files are different, the cell of latest date or largest
size is marked with yellow.

Comparing Two Files: Choose any files for both fields and click
"Binary Check" button.

Options: If you uncheck "Show all files", only the paired files
(files having the same name) are shown on the list during folder
comparison. Otherwise the rest of the unpaired files are added to
the end of the list.
You may also change the sorting rules from options menu.
